about
Loosely inspired by the acts of the 45th president of the USA these lyrics could also apply to any opportunistic and incalculable leader that has no real vision but still manages to attract a lot of voters with hollow promises. And that while their acts are closely followed and scrutinized.
The first verse is about the struggle to convince people that this leader is the wrong choice but failing this cause because this endeavor is done without considering, without seeing and hearing the other side, the ones actually supporting such a leader.
The chorus is the outcry of the ones engaged in this struggle. They think and hope their leaders can't get away with another slur on their reputation but they manage to do so every time.
The second verse tries to depict the result of this hope being shattered. The antagonist looses it and decides to channel his anger in writing a protest song.
lyrics
So here we are, try to make a start
But we didn’t get that far
What is it that you would
Like to say to me?
I guess that I was lost now
And I was too blind to see
What do you want right now
What is it that you need
Do you truly care about the world
Or do you want to quench your greed?
It’s clear to see, the ground
Beneath your feet is getting hot
You think that you can fool us all
While this is your last shot
So what’s the deal, can’t hold on no more
My mind just starts to reel
Why can’t you accept
Your way is simply wrong?
Why do we have to convince you
With another punk rock song?
